Physics, teaching, writing, and fashion criticism
CHAD HARPER
I’m a Ph.D. candidate in the Physics Department at the University of California, Berkeley, and a graduate fellow at the Kavli Center for Ethics, Science, and the Public. My research uses tools from statistical physics, information theory, and dynamical systems to study complex and networked systems.
I also teach physics at Laney College and mathematics at Mount Tamalpais College at San Quentin. Before returning to school, I worked as a Scientific Data Analyst and Consultant at Deloitte, building machine learning pipelines and graph-based models for public-sector clients.
Alongside my scientific work, I write about fashion, aesthetics, and culture, and I direct editorial-style photoshoots.
