I’m a Ph.D. candidate in the Physics Department at the University of California, Berkeley, and a graduate fellow at the Kavli Center for Ethics, Science, and the Public. My research uses tools from statistical physics, information theory, and dynamical systems to study how local structure shapes global behavior in complex networked systems, with applications in computational neuroscience, applied mathematics, neuromorphic computing, and algorithmic fairness.

I also teach physics at Laney College and mathematics at Mount Tamalpais College at San Quentin, where I developed a no-prerequisite course on the physics of complex systems. Whenever there is flexibility, I treat the classroom as a working scientific community: students present, question, and revise ideas together, because the process of understanding is itself collaborative, messy, and worth teaching.

Before returning to school, I worked for three years as a Scientific Data Analyst and Consultant at Deloitte, building machine learning pipelines and graph-based models for government clients including DHS and state health departments. Alongside my scientific work, I write about fashion, aesthetics, and culture, and I direct editorial-style photoshoots. That creative practice informs how I think about science communication: as a problem of structure, interpretation, and making hidden relationships visible.
