I’m a Ph.D. candidate in the Physics Department at the University of California, Berkeley, and a graduate fellow at the Kavli Center for Ethics, Science, and the Public. Im interested in nonlinear, networked and high-dimesional systems which display emergent phenomena. I study these complex systems using tools from statistical physics, dynamical systems and information theory. I'd like to know how local structure of networked systems might shape global dynamic behavior. I hold this question with an eye towards applications in computational neuroscience, applied mathematics, neuromorphic computing, and algorithmic fairness.

I also teach physics at Laney College and mathematics at Mount Tamalpais College at San Quentin, where I developed a no-prerequisite course on the physics of complex systems. I treat the classroom as a working scientific community: students present, question, and revise ideas together. The process of understanding, itself, is collaborative, messy, and therefore worth teaching.

Before returning to school, I worked as a Scientific Data Analyst and Consultant at Deloitte, building machine learning pipelines and graph-based models for government clients including DHS and state health departments.

I love the aesthetics world. We are perceptive, experiencing, judgy things; and inescapably so. In my -- oh so ever growing -- free time I like to take that fact seriously. I've directed editorial-style photoshoots. I've also been critical of things and written those thoughts down: fashion both informs and is informed by our cultural perceptions experiences and judgements, so we -- can -- should -- lets -- talk about that.

I hope to do more. More writing, more research, more mentoring, more creating. And friend, I don't dream of solitude. So lets work together, reach out!
