Teaching
Whenever there is room to do so, I treat the classroom as a working scientific community. Students present ideas, question assumptions, and revise their understanding in public, because I think the messy, collaborative process of understanding is itself what is worth teaching.
I currently teach physics at Laney College and mathematics at Mount Tamalpais College at San Quentin. In that work, I care especially about building rigorous courses that remain inviting to students with uneven preparation, including a no-prerequisite course on the physics of complex systems.
Courses
Course pages and syllabi will be added once the materials are ready.
